The Brentwood Fire Brigade was formed in 1883. The fire station was situated in Back Street, Brentwood. In 1948, when Essex County Council took over from the National Fire Service, the Brentwood brigade was operating from requisitioned buildings in North Road. The County Council bought the North Road premises in 1952 and built a new fire station there in 1974 |
